Kenya has had one of the oldest Cricket teams in Africa, making its first appearance in a noticeable competition in 1896. It was not until 2006 that Lesotho made an appearance in Division Three of the International Cricket Council African League. Their performance was not as good as they came last of the eight teams that participated.

Malawi has shown much promise since the first time it participated in African Affiliates Championships. This was in 2004, only a year after registering as a member of the International Cricket Council. It later won the WCL Division 3 tournament in 2009.

Nigeria is a famous African name when it comes to international cricket. The team has been active since the 19th century and made it to the first significant match in 1904. It has been an affiliate International Cricket Council member since 2002.

 

Mozambique

The Mozambique Cricket Association heads Mozambique's cricket. The national team is a member of both the African Cricket Association and the International Cricket Council. It has been in major tournaments, such as the African Twenty20 championships and Africa's World Cricket League. The first international game for this team was in 2003 at the African Affiliates Championship.

 

Rwanda

Rwanda joined a list of the African teams in the International Cricket Council in 2003. In the same year, they played their first international tournament and finished seventh in the African Affiliates Championship. Rwanda is also one of the few countries with a junior under seventeen active squad.
